Salsa

Chips and salsa has long been one of my favorite snacks. A few years ago, it was about all I ate. This salsa recipe is so simple, you'll never buy the jarred stuff again. And I promise, it will always get high reviews. I'm pretty sure people think I go pick vine fresh tomatoes and then slave over a stove all day, so not true. Not too long ago, I took it to a friend's house and you can imagine my surprise when it was the hottest item on the table - it went much faster than the queso dip, a tough competitor any day.

Ingredients:
1/2 Can Whole Tomatoes (I prefer Hunts)
Can Green Chiles
Lots of Cilantro
1/4 Large Onion, rough cut
1 Clove Garlic
1/4 tsp Cumin
Juice from 1/2 - 1 Whole Lime
1/4 tsp Lowry's Seasoning Salt
1/2 tsp Salt
Black Pepper

Directions:

Gather all of your ingredients and add them to a food processor. The above is my mini-chopper. I love that thing! It's gotta be my most-used kitchen item. Rarely does a day go guy that I don't use it. Btw: the amounts of ingredients above are all estimated. It should give you a good starting point.

Hold down the "go" button on your food processor until it is finely processed and looks like the salsa you'd find at a Mexican cantina. Get out your chips and give it a taste. Add more ingredients as you see fit. This particular day I ended up adding lime and cilantro, some days it's salt - it's usually salt.

Get out your chips and enjoy!
